Hello, I'm Abbie Buhr, a photographer and graphic designer living in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I graduated from the School of Visual Arts in NYC in 2004 with a BFA in Photography. After working in the New York publishing field for several years as a retoucher/imaging editor, I moved to Chicago and attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) where I earned a Post-Bacc Certificate in Visual Communication Design. I freelance as a portrait, event, wedding and real estate photographer. I earned my real estate license in the spring of 2017 and currently work as a Realtor for Coldwell Banker as part of the Hurwitz-Greene Group in Ann Arbor. Lastly, My husband and I own a business in Dexter called Midwest Graphics & Awards, a screen printing, embroidery and engraving company.
From a young age, I started becoming fascinated with photography. Both my Dad and Stepdad are to blame for this because they are camera junkies and it didn't take long for me to join them. While photography will always be my first love, I was drawn to design for the endless possibilities of combining typography, illustration, photos and graphics. I'll always be more comfortable using Photoshop, but Illustrator and I have learned to be friends.
